VMB-614 Insignia

MARINE BOMBING SQUADRON SIX-FOURTEEN

SQUADRON LOG BOOK

COMMENTS:
I have researched B-25s and PBJs for almost 35 years. My father flew in them with the 341st BG for awhile before returning to US to train B-25 crews.

I am trying to obtain photos of all the B-25s that served with VMB614 and also I am hoping someone might have some details of the cross reference numbers used on the 614 PBJs to their BUNOs to help identify the few I have already. The web site is great and I continune to come back often just to scan through the various PBJ units. Thanks

Hello......My Dad was Corporal John Gendall. He was the mail clerk. I also have 2 albums of pictures. He spoke most about Charlie Spam and 1st Sgt. Jesse Freese. I recently came across a small booklet Dad must have received about the unit. It lists information about it and personnel. Very interesting. His picture is already posted in the photo album. He is in the middle of the 3 guys holding the goonie bird.

My grandfather, Edwin Lambert is photographed in the 13th picture in the album. He passed away several years ago but it is still so cool to pull up a part of history that he played a part in. I'm truly touched and extremely proud. Thank you for putting this website together!

I just found this website! My father William F. Hopkins, Jr. was a pilot in this squadron. I am so interested to read more information about this time in his life. Sadly, Dad passed away in January of 2009. I have many pictures that I could scan and share of aircraft and personel. I do not have names of the men in the pictures, but perhaps others would recognize them. Webmaster, please contact me.
