This aircraft was identified by the aircraft's number which was temporarily applied with chalk and is barely visible on the nose just below the bombardier's station. SAILBOAT: This sailboat was constructed on Midway Island by members of VMB-614 with building materials that were "liberated" from various locations on the island. Powered by a canvas sail, it was between 15 and 20 feet in length and undoubtedly provided squadron members with some enjoyment.
